You can make a RS485 connection to the Meter Also.
By using the tested Cable on a B4, P42 and a P32 Modem module.
So the old 2G modem will work as a communications module to connect a LTE/4G modem to.
Here is the wiring for a M2M/Riecktron Modem
NOTE:
The Text message for the M2M Modem on the RS485 connector is:

Another thing to add to the post above:
Sometimes it works better when you load it as a DLMS meter (as above), sometimes it might work better when you load it as a L&G IEC meter. (Loading it as an IEC meter you don't need a multidrop, just the serial number). This is unfortunately dependent on the firmware on the meter, so you might have to deal with this on a case-by-case approach.
