Yes, as long as you've enabled the GIS, you can use PNPSCADA as an inventory system. To activate this feature, go Add New, select GIS, and add an Area. (For instance: At the office)
Once an Area entity has been added, you can see the menu item under View, Entities List By Area. Select it for a list.
It will show you a list of all your physical entities (the ones with Physical Location defined - GPS co-ordinates)
To change the list to show ALL your physical entities, even the ones that does NOT currently have a GPS co-ordinate defined, select the link at the bottom of the report that says 'list all physical entities'.
You can sort, search and download this spreadsheet (as a csv).
If you want to move meters between 'places' instead of necessarily GPS co-ordinates, you basically define your Areas with GPS co-ordinates and diameters, and then on the screen where you set the physical location of the entities, you can select the Area from a dropdown list, and submit it, and it will move the entity there. When you download the spreadsheet (in the above inventory report); it will show you in which area (smallest area) the entity falls. Of course you can still edit the location by dragging the pin on the map. In PNPSCADA we also support a history of locations, so if an entity moves around, you will be able to see the history of its locations on the View, View Location screen (also a map view).

Ok, I can see the various reports are not quite going to work: it has everything, but separately.
What I've therefore done, is extend the functionality on the Entities List By Area report, when you click the link at the bottom, to have an Installation column.
The Installation column is unique per installation. All physical devices that are connected together has the same value in the Installation column. It is a number - Installation ID (the smallest entity ID of all the entities in the entanglement); and then between [] there is the quantity of entities in the entire tangle.
So, you can click on the Installation text at the top of the column to sort by Installation, and then you'll see all related entities underneath each other, e.g. SIM card, related modem, related meters, etc. This is also the case for Sensus concentrators and their meters, Waveports and Wavenis networks, RMS Etron networks, Echelon networks per DC unit, etc. Basically all at the same site or sub-site, would have the same Installation ID.
We only put the first 20ish characters of all the names concatenated together in the Installation column, otherwise it becomes too long and the performance goes down. You do have the full descriptions per entity in other columns in any case, so this should not be a problem.
